Hi there! Welcome again to another newsletter, we’re officially counting down till the end of the year. This will be the final newsletter for 2023! And I’m so excited to get into today’s topic on dreaming again. I titled it dreaming again because this newsletter is dedicated to awakening the perseverer within you. For anyone going through a tough time now, I want to remind you that God will see you through this. Though you may be tried by fire, you will come forth as gold.
Over the last few weeks especially since my last newsletter, (read it here if you missed it) I’ve been taking time out to reflect on the past year and how I navigated different situations. I started reading a book called ‘Get Up, Get Out & Get Blessed’ and it’s honestly the perfect read to end my year. The author speaks on how we all have seeds of greatness deposited within us, but we have a choice on what we choose to do with those seeds. Do we write off our futures because of our current situations? Or do we believe in the blueprints for our lives even though we may not be walking in the manifestation of what we envision? I’ll like us to review our perspectives.
How Are You Seeing?
There is truly so much power in vision, what we see, the mental picture of our imagination though our realities may be so far from those images. So my question is what do you see? Past failures? A distorted image based on the confinement men have placed on your life? What do you really see? Such a simple yet powerful question. I’ve personally struggled with this at times and I now find myself at a place where I’m learning to change my perspective on different situations. After all, a coin does have two sides to it.
When we’re tarrying for a vision to actualise and we’ve been waiting for a while, it may be easy to give up or even start questioning what we were envisioning in the first place. But now more than ever before, I am learning to rely on God to give me sight. God sees long term, and though the vision tarries, there is an appointed time for manifestation. He sees and speaks to us with the end in mind. So even when you look far from who God is describing you to be, for example, God may describe you as a serial entrepreneur or an industry titan, yet you’re barely making enough money in your business. Or you’re only just finding your footing in your respective field, you may not look the part but in God’s eyes you are. He’s already created you to become what He is describing you as, but we all have to undergo process and preparation. Nothing happens overnight, you are not behind because you’re not unravelling at the pace you thought you would. Allow God take you through His process for your life. I don’t know what promises you are holding unto, but please remember humble beginnings are part of the process.
There is beauty in beginning. It’s called the beginning for a reason, your situation will change. But even before we begin to see the desired growth or improvement in particular areas of our lives, can we choose to see the good in the middle? I know it may sound contradictory, how can I see good in what seems to be bad? Slow growth? My resolve is, whatever process God is involved in, is for my good and it is good because I am not passing through it alone. Our speech in times of seemingly nothingness is so crucial. I’ve been meditating on the power of our words recently and how we have the ability to create through declarations. I recently studied Genesis 1: 2 ‘In the beginning the earth was formless and empty… and God said let there be light and there was light’. These verses are so powerful as they remind me of the importance of speaking the truth, the word of God into every situation and allowing God to do only what He can. Our words shape our realities. Our words are seeds that can either bear positive or negative fruit in our lives. So I implore you today, speak life into that space of seemingly nothingness. We are constantly developing and being nurtured and this all takes time. Let’s not look down on ourselves in seed form. Times and seasons are in God’s hands, and any process no matter how long, is for a purpose. Remember the journey has been designed for you to win, you cannot loose with God.
With this in mind, I’m encouraging you to choose to see your life from God’s perspective. God has a bird’s eye view, He sees our lives entirely, so can we trust His account? We can only see from his perspective when there’s an exchange of our thoughts with God’s truth. Allow Him give you perspective on any area of your life that seems confusing, far from what you envision and choose to be committed to the process no matter what. Your life has only just begun, don’t write yourself off. Your story is already written, why don’t you wait to see how it unfolds? God speaks to us with the end in mind, though we may not look like what we have been promised, our lives are in the hands of the trusted writer.
When navigating the middle, it’s easy for fear to seep in. Fear of failure, rejections, what ifs etc. I’ve struggled with this lately, and I’ve noticed how paralysing fear can be. To the point where we may not even realise we have stayed at the same place for far too long. In the book I’m currently reading, the author spoke on how fear and mediocrity are tied to together. When we are fearful, we’re unable to put our best foot forward. We may even find ourselves procastinating and completing tasks last minute to sub-par quality. But a question I’ve had to ask myself is, what fruit is fear bearing? What does giving into fearful thoughts produce in my life? These are questions I’ll encourage you to ask yourself too. If you’ve been experiencing stagnancy lately, I’m here to tell you, it’s time to come out of that mental block and move past fear. I don’t believe this is a solo journey, this is something that needs to be done in partnership with God and renewing our minds with the word of God. For every fear, there is the truth ready to counter it. But we need to be willing to dig deeper in scripture. Our efforts are required, no longer can we allow our minds, our peace and so on to be robbed by fear. I re-read one of my favourite books recently called ‘Appointment with Destiny’ by Jumoke Adenowo and she made such as profound point, here it is.
‘Fear masqueraded as wisdom’ is what really stood out to me. It’s so important we are able to pin-point what we are afraid of and navigate this process of overcoming fear with God. I’ve done this recently and it’s been so relieving being on the other side. I’ve made a decision to stop partnering with fear and negative thoughts and I invite you to do the same, it’s time for us to move forward.
A Fresh Slate & Building on Solid Foundation
As we prep for the new year, it is yet another time to start afresh. But before we start goal setting, vision boarding etc, I’ll like to encourage us all to seek God’s vision for our lives and dream with God. Allow Him lay the foundations for 2024 and guide you in your aspirations. When we build with God we are assured that He will bring his plans for our lives to pass as we play our role.
Psalm 127: 1 ‘Unless the Lord builds the house, they labour in vain who build it’.
With God we cannot fail. We’re not promised a perfect journey, rain may fall, the winds may blow, but one established on God’s foundation will not fail. One of my favourite verses is this:
Psalm 37:5 “ Give God the right to direct your life, and as you trust him along the way, you’ll find he pulled it off perfectly!”
So even as this year draws to a close, dare to dream again. Past disappointments, failures, setbacks etc are in the past for a reason. Let’s not allow that to write off all that is yet to come. There is so much more.
Merry Christmas and happy new year in advance!! I can’t wait to continue writing to you in the new year. Thank you all for riding with me this year. As always share your thoughts below and with a friend who may need this! See you soon.💃🏾

Rhieme
