🗞️ Roundup of Lessons in Seasons
💌 Rhieme Recommends:
🎥 ‘The Story Behind the Land is Green’ by TY Bello: I watched this last week and I was so touched! She shared the profound story of how she created her song in a season that looked far from the reality of what she was experiencing. Watch it below:

🎙️For those who prefer listening, enjoy!
How are you taking ownership of what has been placed in your hands?
I had a profound conversation with a friend recently and she said to me, how you view what you currently have in your hands, goes a very long way. It’s one thing to understand that you have a voice, and a place but how are we viewing our present moments and the processes we are going through? Sometimes I don’t think we realise how much we are overlooking ourselves and just how far we can go. A Bible verse I’ve been meditating on is this:
“Though your beginning was small, Yet your latter end would increase abundantly.”
Job 8:7 NKJV
It’s a constant reminder for me, that my little, can blossom into much over time. Whatever fruit God wants to bring to the work of our hands He will do so, but as we wait for that increase, do we see the value in what we are currently doing now?
Job 8:7 is so profound for a few reasons as it reminds of these points:
⁃ Your beginning doesn’t determine what your end will look like.
⁃ It’s possible to miss the latter end if we stop cultivating in the middle.
⁃ Better is the end of a thing than it’s beginning.
And remember this..
Your podcast isn’t just another podcast.
Your writing isn’t just another person speaking online.
Your clothing brand isn’t just another clothing brand.
You’re not just another person in your office.
Until we begin to see ourselves and the things we have in our hands as valuable despite not being where we mentally envision for ourselves, it’s likely it’ll be difficult to make real progress. Or we could even slip into self-sabotage. A lot can be done with our little, but are we seeing correctly? Whose lens are we viewing ourselves? People’s opinions? Our limited mindsets? Or God’s vast imagination?
You may have a bigger picture of where what you’re currently stewarding over is going/ what you hope for it to become, yet your reality may look far from it. It may even seem unattainable. On our own it probably is, but with God nothing is impossible. Times and seasons are in His hands.
So my question is — how does this apply to you?
There is so much more that can sprout from our lives, but we have a choice in how we see our present lives and how we steward over them. It’s one thing to acknowledge that you have a voice and place for a reason. It’s another for you to utilise your voice and make the most of where you currently find yourself. Some of you might have been overlooked at different points in time, and this never feels great. But guess what, recognising and understanding your identity in Christ, is really what matters. In a season where people may have written you off, God’s handwriting might just be all over that same season. I also believe taking ownership of what we have in our hands goes beyond physical action but also making internal changes such as how we speak about our lives, projects, ideas at large.
Our Words Matter
Our words matter too. How are you speaking about what is currently in your hands? This is a question I had to ask myself recently. Do you see yourself as just another person passing by or one who is created for such a time as this? How we view and speak of ourselves will impact on the actions we take, how others treat us and how we treat what has been placed in our hands. What seeds are you sowing through the words that you speak? Are your words aligning with the season that you are in? And I don’t mean only speaking words of life when everything seems to align, I mean what are our words like even in the messy middle? Are you speaking negatively about your situation? Or speaking yourself as a lost case? Or are you using your words to begin to sow seeds into a future that though it may not seem attainable now, it will unfold in God’s time? I listened to one of my favourite musicians, TY Bello, share how the story of she wrote one of her most popular songs ‘Greendland’ in a season that looked far from what she was singing about. And it reminded me of the importance of speaking of things as though they were, even when they are not. Why? Because what is the point of speaking negatively over our lives? What benefit does it bring us to continually talk down on ourselves, futures, plans etc, because of a temporary circumstance?
When I speak of speaking positively, I also don’t mean mere words, because on our own we can do nothing. I mean using Biblical scriptures and speaking them over our situations. This I know will produce results, as God’s words don’t return to Him void. So today I want to encourage you to allow the words you speak align with what God is saying over you. Everything may seem barren now, without much sight of change, it might be a glimmer of a new season you may see. Yet that new season itself may not have sprouted, it is okay. Seasons change and soon you will enter into a season of fulfilment and promises coming to pass. But even as you wait, allow your words align with the season that is on the horizon.
⁃ Your business might be running at a loss, but this doesn’t mean it cannot become profitable. Neither does it mean you have failed as an entrepreneur. Maybe a change of strategy is needed? Ups killing? Taking a break?
⁃ You may not be working at your dream job, but this doesn’t mean you wouldn’t have a great career. You might even be in the lowest position at your company and others may overlook you, but this is your reminder that it is not over. Steward as best as you can and in due season, God will reward you. Remember in a moment, anything can change. Nothing goes wasted.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this three part series on finding your place and voice. For anyone whose voice has been lost, I hope this re-ignites hope in you once again. You have been made on purpose, with purpose and your voice is needed for such a time as this. My messages are open if you’d like to speak further!
As always I hope this met you where you are. Share with me any points that resonated with you
and I’ll see you next week. ♥️
Love,
Rhieme
