🗞️ Roundup of Lessons in Seasons
💌 Rhieme Recommends:
🎥 ‘Let’s Sit With It’ — 🩷 ‘When I win you Win’ by Moyo: This conversation was so beautiful and wholesome. From extending grace to our friends to intentionality in how we show love to them, it’s not one to be missed!
📚 ‘Start with Why’ — Simon Sinek: I’m still in the middle of reading this book but so far so good! It’s been an amazing read so far on leadership and being strategic when executing.
🎥 ‘Success Secrets of the Super Youth’ by Jumoke Adenowo: If you know me, you know how much I respect Mrs Adenowo so much! This is a video from an Awesome Treasures youth session. The panel discussion was very insightful. Topics covered include — patience in the journey, honouring our parents, staying committed to the long game and more.
Here’s an encouraging word for you — time can be restored, it’s not over yet. Some of us may have missed opportunities, disheartening circumstances may have taken place which may slowed us down. But time can be restored. God restores and when He does, He puts us where we ought to be, second chances are available.
Now let’s get into today’s newsletter!
👑 Unpacking with Lessons In Seasons:
Quarterly Reflections with Lessons in Seasons ☁️
🎨 We can be intentional about curating the lives we want to live: A lot of Q2 involved being active in scheduling and planning things I wanted to see more of in my life. I think it’s really easy for us to become bystanders in our own lives and constantly hope that certain areas will naturally flourish without cultivating. For example, you may want to build stronger relationships with your friends, but have you planned time to spend with them? Or you want to create more memories, what activities have you planned for this to take place? Or you may want to see more growth in your career, have you been deliberate about creating a new plan of action? Anything that isn’t cultivated will eventually die and it’s worth slowing down sometimes to see where we’re at.
🎨 Friendships are essential to living a full life: I spent a lot of the last quarter reflecting on my relationships and thinking about how key good friendships are. We all need people. Friends who you can share your wins with, friends who can pray over you, those who hold you accountable. It’s a lie to think we were created to do life alone. Having times of solitude is important, but it’s equally as important to know when it’s time to commune with others. See this as your reminder to reach out to a friend you’ve been meaning to, we need people!

🎨 We can start over when we decide to: We all know when it’s time to move forward and when you’ve been stuck for a while it’s easy to think there’s no way out. But you can choose to start over when you’re ready to. I think new beginnings have a lot to do with our mindsets. We could have seasons that present so many new doors to move forward from relationships, opportunities etc, but the question is, are you allowing your mind to remain in a cage from the past? There’ve been situations I’ve passed through, that coming out to the other side only really happened when I made an active decision to move forward. And once I did, new opportunities started springing forth. Which is why I love the verse:
Isaiah 49: 18-19 ‘Forget the former things, do not dwell on the past. See I am doing a new thing. Now it springs up, do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland’.
So my question to you is — where do you want to start over? Even as we move into the new half of the year, what do you want to see happen in a different way? You may have made mistakes and it’s okay, forgive yourself and move forward. You want to see your relationships blossom in a new way? How about sowing into them in differently? Checking in more? Asking friends how they receive love? We don’t need to wait for others to do this before we choose to, we can set the standards we want to see in our lives. You can choose to raise the bar.
🎨 Our days of little are still worth cherishing: I’m currently in a phase where I am not afraid to be seen trying. Neither am I waiting for everything to click or be perfect, before I fully live. Our days of little beginnings, where we see glimpses of what could be and would be if we are patient and remain dilligent, matter too. We can choose to believe in ourselves now even when we may not be where we visualise. We are on our way there and our lives are worth cherishing and living even in this present moment.
🎨 God is more than enough: at the start of the year, I made an active decision to challenge myself in developing my relationship with God further. Sometimes we underestimate how God truly holds all the answers. From the people we need to meet, the opportunities we want access to. I’ve come to realise that everything truly flows from putting Him first in everything and allowing Him order our steps. God restores and can help us in ways people could never.
