New week, new letter! Hi everyone, hope you’ve all had a great week so far. 🩷 Welcome to another series titled ‘The Awakening’. This series is dedicated to those who are ready to open up more as individuals and begin to embrace all aspects of themselves.
But before we get into it, here’s an encouraging word for you! 💐
This is to the person who is navigating an uncomfortable transition and having to step out of their comfort zone — your voice is needed for such a time as this. We may sometimes find ourselves in spaces where we begin to do things we may have never tried before. It can be uncomfortable, sometimes even nerve-racking, but remember this, you are not here to merely be an echo, you have a voice and your life is a message to the world for such a time as this. On the other side of the nervousness you may feel in stepping out, are people attached to your yes, please don’t hold back. You are made for such a time as this.

Navigating the Wait: The Awakening Series
How Do we Navigate the Wait?
Have you ever found yourself in a place where you recognise that you have so much deposited within you yet you haven’t taken action just yet? Today I’m coming from a different angle in relation to stepping into what we’ve been created to do. This newsletter is dedicated to the person who has an awareness of what they carry but you’re aware it’s not time to execute. I hope this meets you where you are. 🩷
I mentioned in my last newsletter that it’s important we are able to discern the right time to take action on certain ideas and ventures. I certainly don’t believe in procastination but there’s a difference between taking action in a timely manner and hurrying. There could be the fear of running out of time, falling behind our peers etc, but as I’ve shared previously, don’t compare the pace of your life to that of another person. There’s an appointed time to take action on certain ideas and I believe it’s important we know the difference between a good time versus the time God has set in walking into the manifestation of things we know we are created to do. When we are in doubt, it’s okay to wait and receive clarity as opposed to rushing because of the fear that may come with the in between. The in between is not a bad place to be, we could actually begin to see it as a time where we can truly — rest. Rest from feeling like we always need to have the answers, a plan B and generally having it all together. Often times in the middle of the wait, it’s easy to feel like you’re wasting time in being committed to the process that is necessary, but this is not true. We see it in everyday life, before a plant blossoms, there is a time frame where it still remains a seed and gains all the nourishment it needs before sprouting. It’s the same with us, there is a time of processing and it’s not a waste of time.
Stewarding in the Background
Everyone wants the spotlight, a place of recognition, where our efforts are acknowledged. But what happens when we’re in the background? What happens when we have to carry out the mundane tasks? I believe this is where true building takes place. It’s where we learn how to be dilligent behind the scenes, where no one may see our efforts or consistency and we’re built from the inside out. This is so important because we want to become people who have solid foundations and good character. But character is built over time, it’s built in how we respond to challenging situations in life, how we navigate our everyday life and our faithfulness overall. You may be wondering, how does this tie into the series? Actualising our potential and walking purposefully requires humility. Where we recognise that all we do, is not to glorify ourselves, but actually to be stewards over the lives God has given us and live lives that please Him. Staying in the background may cause you to feel overlooked. Have you been there before? Where you’re asking yourself but I can do x too, how come I’m not being given the same opportunity as x person? Or why haven’t I been given the opportunties I desire despite my commitment to x? I think it all comes down to times and seasons. There’s a time to be in the background doing the seemingly mundane and there is also a time where you’re in the spotlight and it’s what you’ve learnt behind the scenes that will keep you there. This is why I encourage myself to be patient, because ultimately you want to be one who lasts in the room, a rising star over a shooting star who dies down over time.
In times of questioning this scripture is the perfect reminder:
Daniel 2:21 ‘He changes times and seasons, He removes kings and establishes others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning’
Walking in purpose isn’t about being loud. It’s not about being the most well known person, I believe it really means living out the life God has designed for me and staying committed to the process I need to pass through regardless of how long it may take.
Being Tested with the Little 🧱
There is beauty in the background. Before we start walking into the bigger things we desire, we’re often going to be tested with the little. Regardless of how gifted and talented any of us are, we need to start small and be comfortable beginning with the little in your hands. For example, you may have a knowing that you’re called to speak to thousands yet you find yourself only having the opportunity to speak to one or maybe even five people. I want you to know that there is beauty in this seemingly little place. Our light shining in this world shouldn’t only take place when we’re in the rooms we’ve always wanted to enter but more so should be our daily lifestyle regardless of our stages in life. You may even find yourself in a quiet season where you don’t have much happening for you but I want you to know that this place, is still purposeful. So much is happening behind the scenes you are unaware of.
Two of my favourite characters in the Bible are Joseph and David. David started of tending sheep, yet he became king. Joseph was thrown into a prison yet he became the second in command of a nation. They both looked like the most unlikely candidates in their early days, yet their latter days looked nothing like where the begun. The times where they had been written off by men, was the same time God was affirming their identities and preparing them for what was to come. So my point is — please don’t look down on yourself because of your beginning, there is still so much in store for you. In due time, God will take you where He has purposed for you. If you’re in a place where you feel overlooked by those around you, remember that as you are as an individual, you are valuable. Even if people don’t recognise it, you be the first to recognise and believe that as you are, you are a person of value. It’s only a matter of time before people begin to catch up with the reality that has always been set in stone.
So even as we wrap us today’s newsletter, I want you to hold unto this as you navigate this week, there is beauty in the background. You may not be doing anything ‘big’ or seen by many but this phase is still purposeful. I am rooting for you always! And I hope this met you where you are. See you next week! :)
