New week, new letter! Hey guys, hope you’ve all had a great start to your week? Today’s newsletter is so special to me as it marks a year since I started this newsletter and I honestly have no words! Thank you guys for riding with me! 🩵 From the comments, recommendations, sharing your perspectives & sharing the newsletter with others, I appreciate it. I can’t wait to continue to write to you, God willing! 🙏🏽
🗞️ Round-up of Lessons in Seasons
That being said, today I’ll be sharing 5 lessons I’ve learnt over the past year of writing. Let’s get into it!
5 Lessons I’ve Learnt Over The Past Year of Writing 🦋
📌 Lesson One — What you carry matters, don’t overlook yourself: when I started off this newsletter, I wasn’t sure what exactly I was going to share. There were times I wondered, why me? And what do I have to say? But over time I’ve come to realise, that instead of asking why me, it’s more so why not me? I certainly don’t know everything, but what I do have are my life experiences & story. Most importantly, I know this is in alignment with what God would have me do, so why not take the leap? I think often times it’s really easy to count ourselves out because we may look at we have in our hands and see it as insignificant. But who said so? And where has that perspective come from? Could it be a false image of yourself you’ve carried over time? Or words people may have spoken over you? What I want to remind you of is — what you carry matters & is important. I’ve mentioned this previously — but none of us are here to be an echo. You have a voice, that is worth hearing in whatever avenue that looks like. Writing over the year has shown me this from hearing testimonies of how this newsletter reached people at some of their hardest moments to serving as a timely reminder.
— I shared more on this is an interview I had two years ago: watch below!
📌 Lesson Two— Be faithful with the little: when we’re presented with what appears small, or the beginning of something new it’s easy to shrink back. And even wonder what could possibly come from this? But why do we despise our days of beginning? Everything starts somewhere, nothing actually appears overnight. It’s really easy to only want to focus on things that externally look ‘big’ and praiseworthy, but is this what service is really about? We’re created to be faithful in the little. With the person we encounter. With the opportunities that come our way whether big or small. With the gifts that have been placed within us. And as a caveat — what appears to be little, can blossom into something beyond our imagination but are we ready to pay the price in consistency & faithfulness?
I shared this video earlier in the year & thought it was apt to bring it back!
📌Lesson Three — Don’t change or water down your message to fit in with others: Each of us have been created in such distinct ways and God has a unique story he’s writing as we walk out our lives daily. However, sometimes there can be pressure to blend in with others because we don’t see our lives unraveling in the way the lives of others are. It could be what we’re called to do looking so distinct from others, going on an unconventional path etc. But what I’ve come to realise is, we all have people who are connected to us sharing the message that has been placed within us. We don’t need to alter what God has already orchestrated we become over time. To do this is to truly do a disservice to the world as we’re showing up a as watered down version of ourselves. His design for our lives is perfect. When people are still struggling to catch up with the unconventionality of our journeys, it’s actually okay, I don’t believe we’re here to constantly prove a point to others on the validity of the decisions we have made. As long as we are in alignment with God’s will, we have all the validation that we need.

📌Lesson Four — Vulnerability is key: each newsletter has been a letter to myself as well. Before I write to you guys, I have conversations with myself on my newsletters. Each of them have caused me to be more intentional about checking in on myself too and have served as a reminder that as we pour into others, we need to do the same in our lives.
📌 Lesson Five —Obedience pays: I started out this journey to share my gift of writing and words of encouragement with others and to think this has now led to a global community is mind blowing. How we have community members from Australia, to Zambia and more truly warms my heart. To think that this gift of mine is making room for me in this way, is testament to the fact that what we carry matters. In your small corner, God can amplify your voice & connect you to those who are attached to your yes, as you take steps towards doing what you’re made for.
A year of writing and everything has changed for me. As I’ve written, I have come to understand myself even more, value my thought process, creativity and so much more. When you do more of what you’ve been born to, you begin to unlock more parts of yourself you may not have known existed. I’m grateful to begin this way and expectant to see where this will take me.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of this community & everyone joining in now. I’ve loved connecting with guys both online and offline. As always I’d love to hear your thoughts! How did you discover this newsletter? And feel free to share anything you’ve learnt since you joined in! See you next week, and welcome to July a month of new beginnings.
Love,
Rhieme ♥️
Thank you Rhieme for your faithful obedience over this 1 year and Happy 1st Birthday to Lessons in Seasons 💐.
