Now let’s get into today’s newsletter!
💌 Three letters to you who may fall in all or one of these categories:
🩵 Letter 1: To the one who believes you have lost time:
We don’t realise sometimes how much time has passed as we go through life. Coasting can be very easy when we’ve gone through life altering experiences and sometimes in the midst of the continuous passage of time, it can be harder to face reality. I mentioned in my last newsletter that being numb can be easy when we’ve faced repeated hurt. But I also believe that as much as there are times where we need down time, a time for recouping, there is also a time to remember there is more to life that lies ahead we are yet to experience. It’s okay to make mistakes. We’re imperfect beings trying the best we can with our hands. But one thing is, time can always be restored regardless of how long you’ve been out of sync. God exists outside our own timing, so when we think we are behind, we can rely on the one who holds time and can change things in a moment. If it’s you who needs to stand up and walk, this is your nudge to arise. In the Bible we have the story of Joseph, who had been in prison for a while. But in a moment, his garments changed and he was called upon. My question to you is — are you truly ready to be restored? We can’t undo what has already happened, but we can continue on our journeys. We can acknowledge our mistakes, when we didn’t take appropriate action, learn and move forward.
🙏🏽 Prayer: Lord you are the one who turns situations around and you know what I have passed through. You know where I’ve been and where I ought to be and even in this present moment you know where I am. Lord take me where I need to be. Restore whatever I have lost, teach me to number my days and always be aligned with your perfect will amen.
This worship set on restoration is so beautiful, I highly recommend:
🩵 Letter 2 —To the one who is confused:
Times of confusion can be incredibly distressing. From uncertainty, unexpected outcomes and unending questions. It can truly be overwhelming. In times where I need clarity, I’ve found that the best answers to my states of confusion is found in my source — God. Sometimes I think we put too much pressure on ourselves to have answers, but honestly, I don’t believe we were created to have the answers to questions only God can provide responses too. Coming to a place of true surrender and taking time to retreat and ask God questions is my safest place. A scripture I often return to is
Daniel 2:22 NLT “He reveals deep and mysterious things and knows what lies hidden in darkness, though he is surrounded by light.”
It’s such an apt reminder that all answers can be found in God if we choose to seek Him. I would also recommend going on a retreat if you’ve had a lot of noise around you. I wrote a post a while back on the importance of retreats & included a resource guide, read below:
But hold unto this, clarity will come, it may not be when you want it to. You may have to keep walking for a while without answers, but trust that God will continue to direct your steps.
🩵 Letter 3 — To the one who is afraid of stepping out in faith:
Your obedience matters, but I don’t believe we should say yes to God from a place of fear but rather understanding. Understanding the reason behind what we need to do is crucial. I read a post recently that expanded on this. Read it here. But I want to remind you that your yes matters. Taking time out to unpack why you may be finding it difficult to step out in faith is worth it. Are you dealing with feelings of insignificance? Unworthiness? Low self confidence?
Whenever I’m nervous about taking action on something God has laid on my heart, what encourages me is that in every yes I take, I’m getting closer to the image God always had in mind when He created me. Fear is fleeting and it’s important we unpartner with it and partner with faith instead. Don’t discount yourself from experiencing significant shifts in your life. You’ve been created with a purpose in mind, and we have the choice to live that out everyday. Will you say yes? There are more people rooting for you and connected to your yes than those who are not.
I know it can be nerve wracking walking in the unknown, but find solace in the fact that there’s a God who knows every step you will take. Your walk is not accidental and at every step of the way He will guide you. Surrounding ourselves with sound voices of reason in times like this is so crucial and I’ll encourage you to stay planted in community especially in times like this.
So to the one wondering — how will this be?
How will I cross over in the midst of confusion? How will I step into what God will have me do despite being the first in my family to do so? How can I possibly pick up myself when I’ve lost so much time? Remember this — anything can change in a moment. Unpartner with fear, partner with faith and allow God do only what He can. If you’ll like to speak further on today’s newsletter my messages are always open! I’d also be hosting another unburden session this weekend where we can speak one to one, on matters on your heart. Use the link here to book, and I’ll see you soon! If you’re unable to find a slot and will like to speak send me a message.
I’d love to hear your thoughts, share them below!
I’d see you next week.
