The end of a season and the beginning of a new and better one. Last week I turned 23, and I’ve been basking in the prayers, messages, words and general outpouring of love I received. This year I experienced change from the inside out and I’ve collated these lessons to hold unto and share with you all.
Before we get into it, some exciting announcements:

5 Lessons I’ve Learnt in the Past Year 💐🩷

Anything can change in a moment: silent seasons of preparation, are sometimes the build up to monumental changes in our lives, opening the doors to new seasons. In times where we are away from the centre stage, and developing ourselves, it may feel wasted. But this year I’ve learnt that anything can change suddenly. We may not know when the change we anticipate will come, but at the right time a change will come and our preparation is what will enable us to maximise the opportunities that unfold.
Building privately is key: In a world where there can be pressure to constantly show what you do, the art of building silently needs to be learnt more. After all what do we have to prove? You can build silently, and it doesn’t mean you’re secretive. It’s more so about knowing why we share what we do and the right time as well. A book I learnt more extensively on this is called the Art of Building in Silence by Dephne Madyara and I highly recommend this.
Who you are becoming is more important than what you do. Ultimately it is who we have become from within that will sustain any external progress. It’s so easy to endless chase achievements, milestones, external metrics of success.. but what iz the point of this when we have no real foundations to sustain all this? Who we are becoming is lasting but external achievements are fleeting. It’s okay to take time away and focus on building from the inside out, it is not wasted.
Silent wins & victories matter too: the battles we face, the scars and lessons we emerge with from them, are all part of the process and they matter too. A victory , a win doesn’t need to be post-worthy before it matters. Our lives are to be lived for us, not lived based on how others will perceive us. In God’s hands all of our experiences are part of a beautiful tapestry constantly unravelling.
There are certain phases only God can bring us out from: He can turn our stories around in ways we could never have imagined and give us a life beyond our dreams. But the question, are we willing to ride the waves & stay regardless of how turbulent it gets?
The past year for me has been unexpected, yet beautiful. A year that has taught me, anything can change in a moment. I found the beauty in quieter days, an invitation to build from within. A year where I did less externally, but grew more the inside out which reminded me again, that who I am as a person is more important than what I do. I’m grateful to have been able to document the past year with you all, and I can’t wait to see what the next year holds.
As always I hope this met you where you are. 🩷
